A capitalist economy Essay A capitalist economy is fuelled by the needs and whims the consumer. Hence, understanding the customer’s buying behavior and needs is critical for a marketer to succeed in such an environment. Once a person’s basic survival needs such as food and shelter are satisfied, buying needs are influenced by the need for self-esteem. Consumers buy things to boost their sense of pride and society plays a crucial role in influencing this behavior, through media outlets such television and Internet. They not only inform consumers about a product but also psychologically tell them why they should purchase it, by affecting them on a subconscious level. Peer opinions and brand consciousness also impact consumer behavior since it influences their status among peers. Buyers approach a new purchase and repurchase quite differently. If they are satisfied with the previous purchase, almost no research goes into the repurchase. When it comes to a new purchase, a consumer’s buying behavior depends upon the amount of involvement in researching the product, before actually buying it. For instance, a person who was raised in a poor family and having a conservative spending attitude would spend more time researching an item before buying it. The probability of such a person making an impulse buy or brand-conscious decision is also very less, since people with such a personality tend to make rational decisions based on their needs. Buying a common food item such as salad dressing involves very little decision time, since the product would be a repurchase for most people and the financial risk involved is very less. However, health-conscious buyers may spend additional time researching nutritional information before buying a specific brand. There are also quite a few varieties of salad dressing available in the market to choose from, which may increase the research time of buyers who have a fine appreciate for food. The History of Computers A computer is a machine built to do routine calculations with speed, reliability, and ease, greatly simplifying processes that without them would be a much longer, more drawn out process. Since their introduction in the 1940's. Computers have become an important part of the world. Besides the systems found in offices, and homes, microcomputers are now used in everyday locations such as automobiles, aircrafts, telephones, and kitchen appliances. Computers are used for education as well, as stated by Rourke Guides in his book, Computers: Computers are used in schools for scoring examination papers, and grades are sometimes recorded and kept on computers (Guides 7). "The original idea of a computer came from Blaise Pascal, who invented the first digital calculating machine in 1642. However, in 1671, Gottfried Wilhelm von Leibniz invented a computer that could not only add but, multiply. Multiplication was quite a step to be taken by a computer because until then, the only thing a computer could do was add. The computer multiplied by successive adding and shifting (Guides 45). Perhaps the first actual computer was made by Charles Babbage. He explains himself rather well with the following quote: "One evening I was sitting in the rooms of the Analytical Society at Cambridge with a table full of logarithms lying open before me. The only way to achieve this is to have the best team of teachers and other staff in line. The best team also has some disadvantages and therefore one should be prepared for this. In addition, just because a teacher has some believes does not mean that all the students should have the same believe. This is the reasons why there is a syllabus and some books to offer guidance. This further means that whether it is the teacher, the administration or the society in general, personal attributes or rather personal values should not interfere with class teaching. Personal values and believes are not universal. They are unique from one person to the next and therefore if they interfere with what we are teaching in class, there is a chance that the teaching itself will be biased. There is also a possibility that effective teaching, which is the main aim of every teacher will not be there. In this case, I would first admit that this was a very serious blunder on all mails were sent to children. Secondly, I would gather all correct details concerning the parents and hire another company, which would send apology letter to all those parents whose children received previous mails. I would convene a meeting with the board members and explain to them what happened. I would clearly explain to them that the company we hired caused the mishap. I would assure them that next time we have a campaign, such an incident will not take place.
